The Empress, Acrylic on Canvas

Artist Jonah Caesar Penaflorida (b. 1995), better known as JC, is from Cavite, Philippines. He is the youngest amongst his family of artists. At the Lyceum of the Philippines in Cavite, he earned a bachelor's degree in multimedia arts. He is renowned for using many techniques and colors in contrast in his artwork. To elevate his artwork, he enjoys experimenting with various textures and color combinations. He began doing paintings with graphite and ink. He then began creating art using acrylic and oil paints because he enjoys experimenting with new ideas and methods to bring contrast to serious subjects while using colorful tones. His primary themes are typically larger-eyed women or youngsters in which fashion, video games, and anime all had an influence. His paintings have deeper meanings hidden under their many tones, which he uses to pique viewers' interest. He has joined various group art exhibitions locally and had his First solo show in 2018. He was then recognized by a Japanese Gallery and was offered to be a part of a group exhibition. He is making his way to the international and local art scene through his love for art which radiates through his works.
