Escape, Oil and Acrylic on Canvas

This oil and acrylic on canvas is by Shai Ancheta. Shai started to find interest in art at a young age. This paved the way for her to eventually attain her Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts Major in Painting at the Philippine Women’s College of Davao. In pursuit of honing her skills and exploring the possibilities of her art and career, she decided to leave her hometown and be a full-time artist. She believes that art is one’s way to visually communicate and that in art, no words are necessary to send your heart’s message. Her art is a peephole to a world of escape she has created in the four corners of her room. A world that shares the knowledge, through the portrayal of plants, that despite having different individual paces and needs, growth is inevitable.
