Description

Reminiscent of a sparrow's stunning speckled eggs, the Kai Sushi Plate Collection features 3 uniquely handmade and glazed rectangular pieces. Designed in the traditional Japanese silhouette, each plate has a two-tone glazed base with runny blue specks. Made with extra pronounced borders, these plates can also be used to serve or enjoy saucier dishes without spilling.

About the Artist

Celebrated craftsman Ugu (Augusto) Bigyan creates ceramic art at his own potter's garden in Tiaong, Quezon. Self-taught in pottery, Ugu gets inspiration from nature.

His medium is clay, the raw material for his terracotta bricks, chimes, vases, wall decors, ceramics and various works of arts. His nature-inspired art pieces find their way in the souvenir shops and rooms of posh resorts like Amanpulo, El Nido, Boracay Shangri-la and Crimson Hotel. Queen Sirikit of Thailand even invited him twice to showcase his craft to the Thai people in a royal art festival.
